Castlevania for XBLA – exclusive

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

castlevHere’s some pre-Konami conference E3 goodness for you!

Straight from Konami I’m going to let this one speak for itself:

“l Segundo, Calif. – June 15, 2010 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced Castlevania Harmony of Despair, the first Castlevania game exclusively for Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the premier destination for quality downloadable games. Slated for a Summer 2010 release, Castlevania Harmony of Despair has been selected as one of the five titles in Microsoft’s third annual Summer of Arcade program kicking off in July. Designed by the legendary producer of the Castlevania series, Koji Igarashi creates the latest chapter of this revered franchise, reuniting players with Dracula featuring fast paced, 2D side scrolling action that the series has become known for with a new six-player multiplayer mode.

“As a Konami flagship title, it was important for Castlevania Harmony of Despair to represent the merging of traditional platform gaming with the expectations of today’s tech savvy consumer,” said Shinji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. “By offering Castlevania Harmony of Despair exclusively on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360, we wanted to stay true to the origins of the game while presenting special downloadable content to both long time fans of the franchise, as well as new entrants to the series.”

Pro Evolution Soccer 2011: “Long balls into space”

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Konami announced today that it’s going to be releasing the 2011 edition of the Pro Evolution Soccer Franchise this fall.  The game will be released on the 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, PC as well as the PC.  Konami is looking to give the player even tighter control in the game so they can be just like Pelé (he’s still relevant… right?)

If Evony did Soccer Ads...

Apparently the controls, which they are really playing up, will allow the player to “determine the exact strength and placement of every pass and shot” and “spread the balls virtually anywhere” including “long balls into space”.

I am not a gaming soccer fan but if you dig that sort of thing this might be a release to look forward to.  The previous installment garnered some above average reviews.

Also, out of context Konami’s description of this game sounds like a deep space porno and that’s okay with us!
